TAIPEI, Taiwan and MILPITAS, Calif., January 6, 2017 – Silicon Motion Technology Corporation (NasdaqGS: SIMO) (“Silicon Motion” or the “Company”), a global leader in designing and marketing NAND flash controllers for solid state storage devices, announces that based on its preliminary fourth quarter financial results, sequential revenue decline is expected to be towards the 9% end of the original guidance range of a decrease of 9% to 14% that the company issued on October 28, 2016. Gross margin (non-GAAP) is expected to be in the upper half of the company’s original guidance range of 48.5% to 50.5%.

The Company will release its full fourth quarter 2016 results after the market closes on January 23, 2017. The Company will host a conference call on January 24, at 8 am Eastern Time, to discuss its results.
